NATO’s War Crimes in Libya: Sanctions against defiance

By James Petras
Voltaire Net

Faced with the deteriorating global situation and a wave of popular uprisings breaking away from Western hegemony, NATO powers counter-attacked in the most resolute manner. According to James Petras, the destruction of an independent and secular regime like Libya was meant to send a strong message: any independent Third World regime can be overthrown; colonial puppet regimes can be forced upon a devastated people; colonialism is still thriving; and imperial rule is here again. ~ InfoWars Editor

NATO’s racist Al Qaeda forces target blacks in Tripoli

By William Blum
Anti-Empire Report

“Why are you attacking us? Why are you killing our children? Why are you destroying our infrastructure?” ~Television address by Libyan Leader Muammar Gaddafi, April 30, 2011

A few hours later NATO hit a target in Tripoli, killing Gaddafi’s 29-year-old son Saif al-Arab, three of Gaddafi’s grandchildren, all under twelve years of age, and several friends and neighbors.

In his TV address, Gaddafi had appealed to the NATO nations for a cease-fire and negotiations after six weeks of bombings and cruise missile attacks against his country.

Well, let’s see if we can derive some understanding of the complex Libyan turmoil.

Libya in Pictures: What Lamestream Media Does Not Tell You

By Mahdi Darius Nazemroaya
Global Research

Mirage fighters, F16 fighters, B-2 Stealth bombers, 15,000 NATO air sorties. the bombing of thousands of civilian targets.. NATO is said to be coming to the rescue of the Libyan people. That is what we are being told.

Western journalists have quite deliberately distorted what is happening inside Libya. They have upheld NATO as an instrument of peace and democratization. They have endorsed an illegal and criminal war. They are instruments of US-NATO propaganda.

Global Research’s Mahdi Darius Nazemroaya reporting from Tripoli refutes the media consensus which uphold’s NATO’s humanitarian mandate. He provides us with a review of the mass rallies directed against NATO including extensive photographic evidence. ~Michel Chossudovsky

TRIPOLI. Friday of July 1, 2011 like many other Fridays has seen huge rallies in Tripoli’s Green Square.

Pro-Qaddafi Rally Draws 1.7 million – 1/4 of the Population

NATO will be Defeated in Libya

A Defining Moment for Africa

By Gerald A. Perreira
Libya 360

The argument in Libya has been won by the Al Fateh revolution. There is now a glaring truth confronting the North Atlantic Terrorist Organization (NATO) – Muammar Qaddafi has handed out over one million kalashnikovs to the Libyan people. If he was the brutal dictator that NATO would have us believe him to be, then the armed population could have turned their guns on him and the revolutionary armed forces by now, especially as they would have NATO’s full backing if they did so.

Instead, on July 1st, over a million Libyans, around one third of the Libyan population, were in Green Square and the surrounding streets, to hear Muammar Qaddafi speak and to rally against NATO.

Chinese media put the number at 1.7 million and Intifada – Voice of Palestine website called it ‘the largest demonstration ever in world history’. The crowd chanted over and over again ‘We want Qaddafi’ while unveiling a green flag 6 kilometers long.

Two more eye-witness videos from Libya

By Black Agenda Report

Although US drones are flying in, and US bombs are falling from Libyan skies, the president insists that the US is not waging war in Libya. The facts however, say otherwise. This week’s Black Agenda Video update includes two members of US citizen fact finding delegations, the Bay Area’s Dedon Kamathi and Atlanta’s Lucy Grider Bradley.

Eyewitness Libya: Askia Muhammad Interviews Dedon Kamathi.
Kamanthi traveled to Libya in May, and among much else, recounts how a NATO bomb hit the building that the Dignity delegation had visited the day before, and which it had intended to return the following day, and details of his overland journey into Libya from Tunisia. He was interviewed in early June by veteran journalist Askia Muhammad.

France Says NATO Bombing Has Failed

By FRANKLIN LAMB
Tripoli

One of the jokes heard at this week’s massive pro-government Friday post prayer rally at Green Square (in most of the other Arab countries Fridays are days of rage against the government du jour but in Libya Friday prayers are followed by massive pro-Qadaffi rallies, attended two weeks ago by close to 65% of Tripoli’s population) is about how each morning Libya’s leader, following early morning Fajr prayers dons his formal uniform, complete with those huge epaulets, and salutes the small NATO flag he tapes to his bathroom mirror as he moves from place to place dodging NATO drones and assassins.

“Our leader does this”, one young lady informed me first with a wide smile and then growing serious, “because the NATO bombing of Libyan civilians, which the US/NATO axis claims Qaddafi is doing, has caused his popularity to skyrocket among our proud and nationalist tribal people. I am one example of this. Yes, of course we can use some new blood and long overdue reform in our government. Which country cannot? But first we must defeat the NATO invaders and then we can sort out our problems among our tribes including the so-called “NATO Rebels.”

NATO invades Libya to stop the gold dinar for African Union

By RT

Some believe it is about protecting civilians, others say it is about oil, but some are convinced intervention in Libya is all about Gaddafi’s plan to introduce the gold dinar, a single African currency made from gold, a true sharing of the wealth.

“It’s one of these things that you have to plan almost in secret, because as soon as you say you’re going to change over from the dollar to something else, you’re going to be targeted,” says Ministry of Peace founder Dr James Thring. “There were two conferences on this, in 1986 and 2000, organized by Gaddafi. Everybody was interested, most countries in Africa were keen.”

####

Gaddafi was elected president of the African Union in 2009. Per Al Jazeerah, “He has also previously said he wants a single African military force, a single currency and a single passport for Africans to move within the continent.” That currency is the dinar.
