There are various factions within the Libyan opposition: Royalists, defectors from the Qadhafi regime including the Minister of Justice and more recently the Foreign Minister, Moussa Koussa, members of the Libyan Armed Forces, the National Front for the Salvation of Libya (NFSL) and the National Conference for the Libyan Opposition (NCLO) which acts as an umbrella organization.

Rarely acknowledged by the Western media, Al-Jamaa al-Islamiyyah al-Muqatilah bi Libya, the Libya Islamic Fighting Group (LIFG), is an integral part of the Libyan Opposition.

Greenpeace finds itself in cross hairs

The first time Greenpeace USA realised they had a security problem was in April 2008 when Mark Floegel, senior investigator with the environmental organisation, took a call from a colleague.

“He told me Jim Ridgeway, a reporter with Mother Jones, was writing a piece and would call me for comment. I didn’t know what he was talking about,” Floegel said.

Ridgeway revealed Greenpeace had been “targeted” by a private security company and that a trove of sensitive documents was stashed in a Maryland storage locker.

Afghan President Hamid Karzai’s chief of staff says British diplomats brought a fake Taliban commander to sensitive government meetings.

Mohammad Umer Daudzai made remarks in an interview with The Washington Post on Thursday.

“The last lesson we draw from this: International partners should not get excited so quickly with those kind of things.”

The imposter tried to impersonate Taliban commander Mullah Mansour. He disappeared after an employee who knew the real Mansour raised the alarm.
