Ohio Nullifies Health Insurance Mandates: 18th State to Reject ObamaCare

By Tenth Amendment Center

On the eve of the 213thanniversary of the passage of Thomas Jefferson’s Kentucky Resolutions of 1798, laying the intellectual groundwork of nullification, the people of Ohio exercised their power and nullified the insurance mandate in the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act.

170 million barrels of PA frack waste injected in Ohio lands

(Phil Masturzo/Akron Beacon Journal)

By Bob Downing
Akron Beacon Journal

Over the last four years, enough yellow-brown, salty liquid has been injected thousands of feet under Portage County to fill railroad tank cars stretching for 63 miles. Injecting that waste underground made Portage County No. 2 in Ohio.

From 2007 through 2010, Portage injection wells handled nearly 4 million 42-gallon barrels of waste, according to records from the Ohio Department of Natural Resources’ Division of Mineral Resources Management.

That’s nearly 168 million gallons, or enough to fill enough rail tank cars to stretch from Akron to Mansfield.

Ohio House passes bill to open parks to fracking: Stop it in the Senate

By Alex Beauchamp
Food & Water Watch

Last week the Ohio House of Representatives passed a bill that would allow hydraulic fracturing, or “fracking”, in our state parks. This risky drilling process will turn our pristine state parks into industrial parks, but we’ve got a chance to stop it in the state Senate. Can you contact your state senator today?

What will drilling in state parks mean for you? It could be devastating for Ohio’s drinking water.

The Democrats’ False Flag Candidate

By Numerian
The Agonist

This is a political crime of deception, an enormous bait and switch, in which liberals and quite a few independents were misled by a serial liar who purposely characterized himself as a reformer…

Did you receive your email from Barack Obama yet? If you are a Democrat, or on his campaign mailing list, the president has promised you are going to be the first to know when he formally launches his reelection campaign. It could be any moment now; apparently the White House is waiting for a slow news day when Libya and Fukushima and Congressional budget negotiations aren’t dominating the media agenda. Once the news is out, you are expected as a loyal Obama supporter to start sending in campaign donations and begin attending campaign organization meetings.

The problem is, if you are a liberal, the chances are pretty high that you haven’t forgotten that the White House thinks of you as “fucking retarded”.

Democracy Now: Naomi Klein on Anti-Union Bills and Shock Doctrine

By Democracy Now

Watch the video here.

Naomi Klein on Anti-Union Bills and Shock Doctrine American-Style: “This is a Frontal Assault on Democracy, It’s a Kind of a Corporate Coup D’Etat”

“Obama is also involved in attacking labor rights with his pushing of charter schools and draconian budget cuts. He’s not a good bad guy for progressives. So, we’re still in a situation where Obama is getting away with, in my opinion, shock doctrine-style tactics, because people don’t—still don’t want to believe that Obama is doing it, too.”

As a wave of anti-union bills are introduced across the country following the wake of Wall Street financial crisis, many analysts are picking up on the theory that award-winning journalist and author Naomi Klein first argued in her 2007 bestselling book, The Shock Doctrine: The Rise of Disaster Capitalism. In the book, she reveals how those in power use times of crisis to push through undemocratic and extreme free market economic policies. “The Wisconsin protests are an incredible example of how to resist the shock doctrine,” Klein says.

Wisconsin Governor’s Fake Budget Crisis

By various sources

It turns out that Wisconsin doesn’t have the $3.6 billion budget shortfall as claimed by Koch Industries lapdog governor Scott “Hosni” Walker. Instead, this is an all out war on labor. Though Wisconsin is resisting, other states are also under attack by both Democrats and Republicans.

Dennis Kucinich: My Congressional District May Be Eliminated

By Dennis Kucinich

The New York Times, Newsweek, and Fox News have all recently headlined stories that I may lose my Congressional seat, not through an election, but through redistricting!

Due to the new census figures, Ohio will lose two seats in Congress. The Ohio Legislature (Republican) will redraw the map with 16 instead of 18 districts for the 2012 Election. Speculation nationally, and more importantly, in Ohio is that my district may be eliminated, absorbed into parts of other districts. Keep in mind, given the early Ohio primary, the filing deadline could be only a year away.

Testimony Subpoenaed in Turkish Lobby & Congressional Campaign Case

free sibel edmondsBy Sibel Edmonds

“Sibel’s just been subpoenaed for a deposition in an election court case involving Jean Schmidt (R-OH). This will be a major test of Obama’s justice department to see if they will throw the State Secrets privilege to gag her again, or if they will let this case proceed and let her be on record in a court case for the first time since she’s been gagged. This could be huge, folks!” ~ Cascadiance

Breaking News:

Last week I received a request to provide my sworn deposition and affidavit testimony in a case pending before the Ohio Elections Commission, Schmidt v. Krikorian.
