Industry’s war on nature: ‘What are the bees telling us?’

By Rady Ananda

While industries continue to pollute the planet with their toxic chemicals, toxic waste and toxic spills, Earth’s pollinators sing a swan song that leaves no doubt as to the folly of modern civilization. Our ability to hear and appropriately respond to the crisis of declining pollinators will determine humanity’s survival.

“In 1923, Rudolf Steiner, an Austrian scientist, philosopher and social innovator, predicted that in 80 to 100 years honeybees would collapse.” Queen of the Sun

Steiner believed the industrialization of bees would lead to their demise. It looks like he was right. In recent years, the United States has lost between 100 and 300 billion bees, and the problem has spread to Europe and beyond. While industrialized beekeeping operations do kill millions of bees each year, several other factors contribute to their massive die-off.

Scientists warn of link between dangerous new pathogen and Monsanto’s Roundup

Urges USDA to rescind approval of genetically engineered alfalfa: “In layman’s terms, it should be treated as an emergency.”

Late term spontaneous abortion

Food Freedom

A plant pathologist experienced in protecting against biological warfare recently warned the USDA of a new, self-replicating, micro-fungal virus-sized organism which may be causing spontaneous abortions in livestock, sudden death syndrome in Monsanto’s Roundup Ready soy, and wilt in Monsanto’s RR corn.

Dr. Don M. Huber, who coordinates the Emergent Diseases and Pathogens committee of the American Phytopathological Society, as part of the USDA National Plant Disease Recovery System, warned Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack that this pathogen threatens the US food and feed supply and can lead to the collapse of the US corn and soy export markets. Likewise, deregulation of GE alfalfa “could be a calamity,” he noted in his letter (reproduced in full below).

Who dares to speak: Riding the tiger

By Alex Roslin
Montreal Gazette

In a growing shroud of secrecy, governments fail whistleblowers who often lose their careers, their marriages and their health after exposing corruption. Alex Roslin explores Canada and the US, focusing on Dr Shiv Chopra who tried to protect Canadians from dangerous drugs, agricultural practices, and carcinogenic pesticides from entering the food supply.

Dr Shiv Chopra: The Toxic Five- Why Are They Still in Our Food?

This 80-minute interview by Dr. Mercola of Dr. Shiv Chopra, author of Corrupt to the Core, significantly contributes to the global movement to end hunger. Take the “most toxic food system” on Earth — that of the US and Canada, he says — and let it die a natural death because we no longer buy its product. Instead, implement his “five pillars of food safety.” Stop complaining to the fox that there are not enough chickens in the henhouse. “The fox is not listening.”  Take matters into your own hands.  I’m not going to give up the secret – listen to the entire interview.

EPA approves complex GE crop behind closed doors

cat-in-the-hat-wtf-is-this-shit

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has approved the most complex genetically engineered (GE) crop ever to enter the U.S. food supply

…without notifying the public or inviting public comment.

SmartStax, a variety of corn containing eight new genes—six for insect resistance and two for herbicide tolerance—is significantly different from the three-gene corn varieties that the agency previously approved. Monsanto and Dow Chemical, the joint developers of SmartStax, expect the new variety to be grown on three to four million acres next year, the largest launch ever of a GE crop.
